C: 11. Functions

A function is a group of statements that together perform a task. Every C program has at least one function, which is main(), A function can be called multiple times to provide reusability and modularity to the C program.

Function Aspects:-

  1. Function declaration A function must be declared globally in a c program to tell the compiler about the function name, function parameters, and return type.
  2. Function call Function can be called from anywhere in the program. The parameter list must not differ in function calling and function declaration.
  3. Function definition It contains the actual statements which are to be executed. It is the most important aspect to which the control comes when the function is called.
Example:-

#include<stdio.h>
void printName();
void main ()
{
    printf("Hello ");
    printName();
}
void printName()
{
    printf("Javatpoint");
}
Output:-
Hello Javatpoint

C++: 7. Inheritance

In C++, inheritance is a process in which one object acquires all the properties and behaviors of its parent object automatically. In such way, you can reuse, extend or modify the attributes and behaviors which are defined in other class. In C++, the class which inherits the members of another class is called derived class and the class whose members are inherited is called base class. The derived class is the specialized class for the base class. Single Level Inheritance When one class inherits another class, it is known as single level inheritance. Example:-  #include <iostream>   using namespace std;    class Account {      public:      float salary = 60000;     };      class Programmer: public Account {      public:      float bonus = 5000;        };        int main(void) {   ...

C: 10. Array

 An array is defined as the collection of similar type of data items stored at contiguous memory locations. For example, if we want to store the marks of a student in 6 subjects, then we don't need to define different variables for the marks in the different subject. Instead of that, we can define an array which can store the marks in each subject at the contiguous memory locations. An array index starts with 0. Syntax:- data_type array_name[array_size];   int marks[5];     Example:- #include<stdio.h>   int main(){       int i=0;     int marks[5];//declaration of array        marks[0]=80;//initialization of array     marks[1]=60;     marks[2]=70;     marks[3]=85;     marks[4]=75;     //traversal of array     for(i=0;i<5;i++){       printf("%d \n",marks[i]);   ...
